Those who have followed this space from its inception knew it as “Espiritualidad & Ciencia” (Spirituality & Science). Today, with great joy, I welcome you to Lucid Sapiens.
This change is much more than a new label; it is the manifestation of a personal evolution and a renewed vision for the content we will share. In this article, I want to open my heart and explain the “why” behind this rebirth, the philosophy that drives it, and the incredible gift I’ve prepared to celebrate it with you.
The Birth of a Name: From Meditation to Mission
The idea for “Lucid Sapiens” emerged during a Vipassana meditation. For some time, I felt the need to create a more universal space, one that could also resonate with an English-speaking audience, as I reside in Canada. “Espiritualidad y Ciencia” was a name I love, but it was proving to be a language barrier.
I was looking for a name that was neutral, powerful, and encapsulated the channel’s essence. This led me to the combination of two Latin words:
- Sapiens: Derived from Homo sapiens, the species characterized by its intelligence and capacity for knowledge. It is the root of the word “wisdom.”
- Lucid: Meaning lucidity, clarity. It refers to the ability to see clearly, without the veils of confusion or bias.
Lucid Sapiens is not a description of what we are, but an aspiration. It is the invitation to become a new species, one that not only possesses intelligence but illuminates it with the clarity of consciousness and the depth of true wisdom.
A New Vision: Transcending Intelligence to Achieve Wisdom
Our species is, without a doubt, intelligent. We have built civilizations, traveled to space, and deciphered secrets of the universe. Wisdom, however, is something we must strive to achieve. It is the missing piece for living in harmony, peace, and understanding, both with ourselves and with the other sentient beings on this planet.
The mission of this channel is to explore that path. It is to stop seeing spirituality as a mere collection of beliefs or practices to make us feel good, and to begin seeing it as the fundamental exercise of polishing our mind and our consciousness.
It’s an ambitious dream: to contribute, even if just a grain of sand, to a humanity that does not self-destruct, a humanity that can carry the legacy of life and consciousness to every corner of the galaxy.
The Future of the Channel: Analyzing the World with New Eyes
To achieve this vision, the content on Lucid Sapiens will become more practical, current, and applicable to real life. While we will continue to explore tools for inner growth, we will now apply them directly to the world around us.
We will analyze the great themes of our era through the lens of spirituality and science:
- Technology and its impact on our consciousness.
- International politics and the biases that shape it.
- Social changes and our adaptation to them.
- The economy and the models that govern us.
The goal is to stop talking about spirituality in the abstract and start using it as a critical tool to understand and improve our tangible reality.
A Gift to Celebrate: The Documentary “Umni Cumni: Heart of Gold”
To inaugurate this new stage, and as a deep expression of gratitude for reaching the incredible milestone of 1,000 subscribers, I want to share something very special with you.
It is the documentary my sister Julia made for the launch of my book, “Sácame de la Oscuridad” (Take Me Out of the Darkness). Its title is “Umni Cumni: Heart of Gold,” and it is a visual and sonic testament to my journey with the ancestral Muisca community in Colombia.
This film is a portrait of the will to re-signify ancestral thought, to remember our roots, and to honor the message of Mother Earth: to care for and respect our territory, our traditions, and our fellow beings. It is a journey into the heart of the wisdom that already dwells in our land, waiting to be heard.
